What is zone 2 Run Club?

Zone 2 run club is a welcoming space for runners of every skill level. No need to worry about keeping up with the fastest or outdoing others. Our focus is on fostering relationships and building connections with local New Yorkers.

What does zone 2 mean?

Zone 2 represents a target range during cardio workouts, aiming for your heart rate to hover between 60-70% of your maximum heart rate (calculated as 220 minus your age). if you don’t have a device to monitor heart rate, no problem, a simple gauge is whether you can comfortably converse while running

What are the benefits of zone 2?

Zone 2 has been one of the biggest areas of study with cardiovascular health in the past decade. Zone 2 cardio has been shown to increase cardiovascular health, increase fat metabolism, improve insulin sensitivity, better your mental health, and has the potential to reduce the chance of injury

what makes this run club different?

We kick off and wrap up each session with a 10-15 minute doctor-led mobility warm-up, ensuring everyone properly primes their bodies before the run. Beyond making new friends, you'll also leave with fresh warm-up routines and mobility drills to enhance your runs.

Where is it an when?

Zone 2 will be on Saturday mornings at 10am in Central Park (weather permitting). Meeting spot will be released prior to the event. The run itself will be approximately 30 minutes (about a 5k distance) but plan on 1 hour with the warm up and cool down drills. We will try to always have sponsors to host our events!
